In the hush before the tempest breaks,
a sparrow clings to the weathered wire,
feathers ruffled like forgotten prayers,
yet its small heart beats with unyielding fire.
Rain lashes down in silver whips,
winds howl to tear the world apart—
still it holds, wings tucked tight,
a speck of brown against the dark.
When frost claims the barren field
and hunger gnaws with teeth of ice,
it scratches frozen earth for seeds,
reminding dawn that life persists.
No eagle’s wing, no lion’s roar,
just quiet courage, day by day—
the sparrow rises, shakes the storm,
and sings its fragile, stubborn praise.
So let us learn from feather and bone:
resilience lives in the small and plain.
